A fed-up neighbor snapped pictures of someone driving away after dumping a load of junk behind an old K-Mart on East Michigan Avenue in Jackson County's Blackman Township.
FOX 47's Cryss Walker spoke with the witness who took the photo.
Robert Garwood says Sunday afternoon he shared a photo on social media that captured an on-going crime that has become a major issue in the community.
“Over 700 shares so”. Garwood said. “I almost got a picture of his face.”
The shares quickly traveled online, catching the attention of officers at the Blackman-Leoni Township Department of Public Safety.
“My mom was outside on the porch, she seen him dumping and then she said come look at this come take pictures of it”, Garwood told Cryss Walker.
“I tried getting the license plate but I couldn't, just too far away.”
Wednesday the police department posted the photos on their Facebook page, calling on the public to help them find the person behind the wheel.
FOX 47 reached out to the Blackman-Leoni Township Department of Public Safety to find out more about the incident, but the director was not available for comment.
Back in July, Jackson County Sheriff's deputies told FOX 47 you can call 911 to report illegal dumping and anyone caught in the act can be fined $500.
