Drivers should use caution after overnight ice

LANSING, Mich. — Wednesday's freezing rain will delay most drivers.

Walking out of the door, drivers will need to spend a few extra minutes scraping ice from their car.

To help with the de-icing process, drivers should run the defroster for about five to 10 minutes prior to scraping.

Roads are slick and drivers should anticipate a much slower commute.

In road conditions like this, it is very easy to slide off the road or crash into another car.

If a driver's car begins to slide turn the front wheels the same direction the rear wheels are sliding.

Snow plows are out, but even after the roads are plowed they still remain icy and slippery.

Sidewalks are slippery as well and anyone going outside should use caution when leaving their home.
