EATON RAPIDS, Mich. — An Eaton Rapids woman is celebrating her birthday by trying to get the attention of a famous singer.

Saturday, Lori Bailey-Smith posted on Facebook asking people to upload a video of themselves singing to her daughter, Mariah.

"She was diagnosed at 16 with multiple sclerosis, and it very quickly took all of her abilities, including her ability to sing," said Bailey-Smith.

Something that makes Mariah happy is music.

She's gotten dozens of videos featuring people of all ages and skill levels.

"I've teared up at quite a few of the videos just because it's so special just to see her reaction and that all of these people are taking the time out of their day to do it," said Kati Bursley, Mariah's friend.

One of Mariah's favorite singers is Halsey.

Lori is hoping #Sing4Mariah will go viral and Halsey will hear about it.

If you want to participate, just post a video on social media using #Sing4Mariah.

Make sure to set the post to public.
