The Michigan Bureau of Elections has received an objection to the presidential election recount that was filed by Jill Stein, the Green Party nominee for the 2016 presidential election.
Representatives of President-Elect Donald J. Trump filed the objection on Thursday, December 1, 2016. Under Michigan law, the recount is halted until the Michigan Board of State Canvassers resolves the objection. The board is scheduled to consider resolution of the objection at a meeting on Friday, December 2, 2016.
If the objection is not adopted by the board, the recount can begin two business days after the board's decision. If the board adopts the objection, the recount would be ended.
Since the objection was received, the recount that was scheduled to begin on Friday has been postponed.
