The process of getting away from an abuser is not an easy process for victims of domestic violence. However, a couple of state lawmakers are working with AT&T to remove one of the hurdles.
State representatives Tom Barrett and Vanessa Guerra introduced a bill allowing them to get out of a shared cell-phone plan.
Victims currently have to get their abuser to let them out of the plan or buy a new phone and get a new number.
