Nearly 40 dogs were seized in a dog fighting ring in mid-Michigan.
Monday night Ingham County Animal Control Director John Dinon says it's likely that most of those dogs will be put down.
Dinon says he's been trying every avenue to find a rescue that's equipped to handle the dogs but he hasn't had any luck so far. The dogs can't just go to anyone willing to take them, and it's hard to find someone who is qualified enough to handle them.
Animal control has custody of five of the dogs. The other 32 are still considered evidence, but eventually they will be turned over to animal control.
The group that's been pushing the county to adopt the dogs out says they'll help look for a place to take them in.
