Doctors at Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson say more people are coming in with heat-related illnesses.
The increase is happening in the ER.
Specifically, more people are coming in for heat exhaustion. A lot of the cases are from people with pre-existing conditions like heart disease. However, that's not the only group.
Officials say not every heat scare calls for people to go to the emergency room.
In the event someone's body temperature is over 104 degrees, that person could be suffering from heat stroke.
In that case, call 911 immediately.
