A Saginaw area doctor wants to be Michigan's next Governor.

Dr. Jim Hines made a campaign stop at the State Capitol Thursday, as part of a 7-city introductory tour.

Dr. Hines says he's tired of the "fingerpointing" that goes on at the state and federal level. He says he's practiced as an OB/GYN for 30 years and will take good care of the people of Michigan. "When I look at the people of Michigan, I will take care of them just as I've taken care of my patients all these years and that is putting their issues and needs first. Figuring out the problem, and solving it in conjunction-- that person and me."

This is Hines' first time running for public office. He plans to visit Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, and parts of Northern Michigan.
