WYOMING, Mich. — A "do not eat" advisory has been issued for Charley's Chips products due to them being made in "insanitary conditions."

They issued a do not eat advisory, along with a do not sell for retailers and distributors.

According to the MDARD website the products were produced "in a facility not licensed or inspected by MDARD and all finished products and ingredients have been placed under seizure due to insanitary conditions at the processing facility."

The website said the products were mainly sold on the west side of Michigan but possibly, also statewide.

They are recommending that consumers that purchased these products do not eat them, but throw them out or return to them.

The MDARD website says that under the Michigan Food Law that MDARD is the one responsible for licensing and inspecting food manufacturing facilities, along with assuring the food is right to sell at restaurants and stores.

MDARD says "the facility was neither licensed nor inspected. MDARD found conditions at the facility that are considered insanitary."
