DNR to send firefighters to Canada

Posted

The DNR is sending some of its firefighters to help battle wildfires in British Columbia.

More than 930,000 acres have burned in the Canadian province since April first.

Eight Michigan firefighters will join two, 20-person international teams.

They're expected to spend about two weeks there, working up to 16 hour days.

The DNR regularly works with other agencies to help put out fires across North America.
