The perimeter lockdown at schools in Charlotte has been lifted as of 11:45 Tuesday morning.
A message on a bathroom stall caused the lockdown at the middle school.
Eaton County Dispatch told Fox 47 that at 8:45 a.m. a perimeter lockdown was put in place for the campus of Charlotte Schools, that included upper elementary and middle school, the high school, and the Weymouth Daycare.
No one was evacuated at the site.
Charlotte Schools Interim Superintendent, Rich Ames, told Fox 47 that the message was written in mascara in a middle school bathroom in a stall.
The message said "something to the effect that her dad was going to shoot the place up."
The Principal called Ames, and the school resource officer, and together they made the decision for the lockdown.
The doors were locked and no one was allowed in until the "all clear" was given.
In a Facebook post from Charlotte Public Schools, they reported that as a safety precaution, three other buildings had been notified to be on alert, but were not part of the lockdown. Those buildings were: Washington, Parkview and Galewood.
All students were safe inside the buildings, attending classes and going about their normal business during the lockdown.
The situation is still under investigation, however, all students who used that restroom during that time have been interviewed.
Ames added that parents were notified via the school's robo-call system, voice and text message, and email.
