DEWITT, Mich. — Construction will be starting in a few weeks on a new DeWitt City Hall.
The city council awarding the $2 million construction contract at Monday night's meeting.
It will be home to city offices, the police department and a community room.
DeWitt is going with a new building because renovating or expanding the current city hall would not have been cost effective.
Staff will work out of the old building until the new city hall opens.
The old building will then be demolished.
