DETOUR: Willow Street to be closed starting July 5

The City of Lansing Public Service Department announces that Willow Street at the railroad crossing west of Cleo Street will be closed to through traffic beginning Wednesday, July 5,for railroad crossing replacement and road resurfacing.

Posted detour routes beginning July 5 for the project are:

Westbound Willow Street: Take a left on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, right on Oakland Road, continue Weston Saginaw Street, and then turn right on Waverly Road to Willow Street.

Eastbound Willow Street: Take a right on Waverly Road, left on Saginaw Street, and then left on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Willow Street.

The closure is expected to last approximately a week for railroad crossing replacement. at which time the road will be open to westbound traffic only for the remainder of the project. The project is expected to be complete in mid-August.

Access to businesses adjacent to the construction zone will be maintained throughout the project.
Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes and expect delays.
