HOLT, Mich. — Delhi township records confirm the owner of the house where it happened is Ammar Al-Yasari.

The Ingham County Sheriff's Office confirms it was the homeowner who was found dead, but is not releasing the victim's name for now.

Neighbors say the homeowner and his family were rarely seen, and that they'd only been in the house for about a year.

"I actually used to live a block from that neighborhood so I know it," said Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth. "It's a rarity in that neighborhood or in Delhi Township for that matter. It's pretty quiet neighborhood, so I imagine that neighborhood is fairly shocked."

Captain Greg Harris told FOX 47 News an autopsy was scheduled to be performed today on the 35-year-old man found dead in his home Monday evening, but investigators are staying quiet about until they find out more.

"Sometimes you have to keep things close to your vest to make sure that we can hold accountable who did this," said Wriggelsworth.

Harris was one of many officers on the scene.

He says that they spent all night looking for evidence.

"These live long lives, you stay up all night a lot of these cases and there's going to be a lot of people at the sheriff's office that are on this case exclusively," said Wriggelsworth.

Wriggelsworth says time is a factor in the investigation.

"The first 48 hours are very important to ensure the likelihood that you're going to solve this case, and that's where you're going to do a lot of your due diligence and work there."

Police say they expect to release more information, including the cause of death, as early as Tuesday.
