Deputies are cracking down on drivers who use parking lots to get around construction in Holt.
Consumers Energy is replacing pipes at the Aurelius and Holt intersections on Cedar street. The Ingham County Sheriff's Office says it's been getting complaints about drivers speeding behind businesses on those corners to avoid the traffic backups. That's against the law, because it puts pedestrians and workers in danger.
The sheriff's office says deputies will be strictly enforcing the law.
