LANSING, Mich. — A plea deal is on the table for Lansing's former finance director facing charges for his role in the Flint Water Crisis.
Gerald Ambrose is facing conspiracy, willful neglect of duty and misconduct in office charges.
He was Flint's Emergency Manager for 4 months in 2015 when the water wasn't being properly treated causing the lead from the pipes to leach into the water.
Prosecutors say a plea deal offered to Ambrose would require him to cooperate in other Flint water criminal cases.
The Democrat set to take control of the U.S. House Oversight Committee says he will continue the investigation into the Flint Water Crisis in the next Congress.
That's what representative Elijah Cummings said in a letter to Governor Rick Snyder on Wednesday.
Cummings also demanded the governor turn over any Flint water-related documents to the committee by January 11th.
Governor Snyder testified before the committee back in March of 2016.
Cummings and other Democrats on the committee grilled Governor Snyder and called on him to resign.
Cummings will become the chairman of the committee and has said in the past he is likely to call on Governor Snyder to testify before Congress.
