LANSING, Mich. — A criminal sexual conduct suspect from Spring Arbor Township appeared in court Wednesday.

William Akin, 37, was arrested on a 5-count warrant including criminal sexual conduct and unlawful imprisonment.

A cash bond was set for Akin at $500,000, and he is set to appear in court again on July 26.

Akin was previously convicted for similar crimes to the ones he was arrested for last month, harassment, criminal sexual conduct and home invasion. These all happened in Eaton and Jackson County between 2006 and 2008. He did spend some time in jail for them.

Police said Akin and the women met in person and two of the three victims were sexually assaulted and held against their will. In two of the cases, the women went into his home.

According to police records, Akin told one of the women, Ann Marie Ulch, that "he gets what he wants and he does not take no for an answer and that is how he is."

He also told the woman he "is a serial rapist and would come over and rape her," according to police records.

Anyone who was approached by Akin online is encouraged to contact the Michigan State Police.
