LANSING, Mich. — There's a large sinkhole just west of downtown on Jenison Street at the corner of Ionia. And it's getting a lot of attention.
Residents say it sprung up over the holiday weekend.
The crater measures at about four-feet wide and two-feet deep.
Crews came out Tuesday to mark the area off and place caution barrels around the trouble spot.
Lansing's public service director told us inspectors evaluated the problem that might need both sewer and road repairs.
The city is expected to patch the sinkhole Wednesday for a temporary fix. Permanent repairs will be made at a later date.
