Water service lines have been replaced at more than 2,800 homes during the latest phase of an effort to replace the city's pipes.

The replaced lines are part of Mayor Karen Weaver's fast start initiative.

More than 3,700 lines have been replaced since the effort began in march of last year.

The goal is to have nearly 20,000 lead-tainted lines replaced by 2020.
