Mobile home destroyed, pet killed in early morning fire

UPDATE:

Authorities say a family of five escaped the home unharmed, but a cat was killed in the fire. 
Firefighters were called to the mobile home around 5 a.m.

The fire started in the garage before spreading to the home. It took crews about 30 minutes to get the fire under control, and they left the scene around 7:30 a.m.

The Henrietta Township Fire Department says the home is a total loss.

The Red Cross is assisting the family. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Crews were on the scene Friday morning for a fire in Jackson County.

When the news broke, FOX 47 News was on the scene and could see the fire had completely gutted the home.

It happened in the 9000 block of Bunkerhill in Henrietta Township.

FOX 47 News is working to find out if anyone was hurt as well as the cause of the fire.
