LANSING, Mich. — Ingham County court documents reveal that the altercation between the four men involved in the deadly shooting at Ferris Park in Lansing earlier this month stemmed from a confrontation.
According to the swear to and testimony, Denzel Gibbons went to Ferris Park to confront Kayzohn Hoard who he said was messing with his sister.
Ferris Park is located at 500 W. Shiawassee St.
Malcom Williams, who is being accused of shooting and killing Taijon Grant, was with Gibbons and both of them had a gun.
Gibbons said that he brought a gun just to scare Hoard, however they got into a physical fight and struggled over the pistol before Gibbons shot Hoard in the stomach.
After that, Hoard's friend, Gant shot Gibbons in the arm and then Williams shot Gant.
Shell casings from the scene matched the gun registered to Williams.
Gant ended up dying at the scene and Gibbons and Hoard were treated at Sparrow.
On Thursday, Williams' was ordered to house arrest, with a tether, and is unable to go to work. He will be back in court again on Oct. 3rd.
Gibbons is charged with assault with intent to murder and assault with a dangerous weapon. He's scheduled a preliminary exam on Oct. 3rd.
