The couple that buried their dead child in a back yard in Jackson County last February pleaded guilty to two crimes Tuesday. Brittani Hill and Timothy Young admitted to Concealing the Death of an Individual, a five-year felony, and Removing a Dead Body without Medical Examiner Permission, which carries a maximum one-year sentence.

Hill and Young buried their nine-month-old son, Matthew, in the yard of a home in Waterloo Township. An autopsy showed the boy had a skull fracture. The remains weren't discovered until July and were too badly decomposed to determine the cause of death.

Police in Jackson County were tipped off by police in Dayton, Ohio who were tipped off by an anonymous source. They said Hill and Young claimed the child choked to death.

Hill and Young are scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Thomas Wilson on January 12, 2017.
