An old building in Jackson is going to be the home of some new ideas for Mid-Michigan.
Consumers Energy held a grand opening for its Innovation Center on Friday. It's located in the former Woolworth store on Michigan Avenue.
The center will house the utility's strategic innovation, smart energy, and energy efficiency teams. It'll also be an incubator for startup businesses and the home of the Anchor Initiative, which helps encourage development in downtown Jackson.
