Construction will begin this week on a new music pavilion at Michigan State University.

The 35 million dollar, 37 thousand square foot pavilion will expand the music building on the school's north campus.

The facility will include teaching, performance, rehearsal, and research spaces for students. Michigan State University says it won't just be the music students who benefit.

The project is expected to finish up in about a year and a half. The MSU College of Music has more than 600 music majors enrolled.
