LANSING, Mich. — Construction will begin at Rotary Park Tuesday afternoon to put a sandy escape near the Grand River for people living in Lansing.
The park will stretch from the Lansing Center to the Shiawassee Street bridge.
The sandy beach will feature a patio area, fireplace, and lighted forest.
Right now, people walking near the area can already see equipment and fencing at the park.
The city will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony for the beginning of construction at Rotary Park at 2:30 p.m.
It should be open by this August.
