LANSING, Mich. — Per a statement from Governor Whitmer on May 1, capital improvement project construction will resume on Alaiedon Elementary and North Aurelius Elementary tomorrow, May 7. Crews will begin safely continuing work on the projects that were placed on hold following Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order 2020-42 which halted all non-essential activity throughout the State. Construction crews will continue to observe social distancing as well as following proper safety protocols as they complete their work on the buildings.

Alaiedon Elementary and North Aurelius Elementary Schools are receiving significant improvements to facilities, safety and security. Each building will receive a new multi-purpose room, additional classrooms and a new secure entry. Planned layout changes, remodeling and mechanical and electrical upgrades are also part of the project. In addition, site improvements will expand parking and improve student pick-up and drop-off to ensure each student is safe during high-traffic times. Both projects will be complete by the end of August 2020.
