New reports show that applications to carry a concealed weapon are up in Michigan, according to numbers from Michigan State Police.
MSP's annual report shows over 121,000 Concealed Piston License applications were received between October 2014 and September of last year, with about 120,000 licenses issued.
That's a slight increase from the previous report, where 115,000 applications were received.
Overall, there has been a big jump in applications over the past few years, in the 2011-2012 time period, 82,000 applications were filed.
To apply for a concealed pistol license in Michigan, you must be 21, know how to safely handle a gun, and have no prior felony convictions.
