STOCKBRIDGE, Mich. — People in a small tight-knit community are coming together to figure out how to deal with some local threats.

They have been posted on social media by a young man who lives in the area.

FOX 47 News's Cryss Walker was in Stockbridge with a preview of a Town Hall meeting happening on Thursday night.

School safety is the topic of discussion at the meeting.

Parents say they are concerned about their community after a former Stockbridge student made violent threats on social media.

Jonathan Tyler Buurma is accused of making disturbing comments online against the school district.

Buurma was not charged for the threats.

Police say his comments are concerning but not "legally actionable".

Thursday night a meeting was held at Stockbridge High School to review school safety plans and hear community feedback.

On News 10 at 11 Cryss Walker will have a full report on what happened inside.
