LANSING, Mich. — Residents living at LaRoy Froh Apartments told Fox 47's Cryss Walker they are disturbed by an act of animal cruelty that was recorded at the complex and shared online.

The suspect is seen on camera kicking a kitten that went airborne from the force.

Laughter is also heard in the background.

Wednesday the kitten was found dead in a dumpster by animal control officers.

One resident who lives in the complex says she's seen the cat around the area before.

“The cat came to my house,” said the mother who wanted to remain anonymous.

“My kids let it in. I wish I would of kept the cat if I knew it was gone be tossed like a football like that. We can't have pets here so I told them we couldn't keep it.”

A necropsy will be performed to find out if the cat died from the kick.

The suspect can face felony charges.

Ingham county animal control is offering a $500 reward to help find the suspect.
