JACKSON, Mich. — The Community Choice Credit Union hosted a fun event for families on Aug. 1.
The event was held at the Community Choice Credit Union at 1425 W. Parnall Road in Jackson, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The purpose of the event was to get kids ready for the upcoming school year by giving away backpacks filled with school supplies and free haircuts.
"You've got a lot of things going on and then school year comes and there's those additional expenses of haircuts, backpacks, school supplies you know all of that so were just really happy that we can get out there and help the kids have that successful start to school," Bridget Simone, a member center manager of the credit union, said.
Face painting and other activities were also a part of the event.
If you missed this event, the Hillsdale Community Choice Member Center is hosting its backpack giveaway next Thursday, Aug. 8.
The credit union gave away a free backpack and school supplies to the first 400 students who attended the event.
