LANSING, Mich. — Hours before the long lines, loud music and chaos, Hip hop artist Kelsey Lynn says she still feels like she’s dreaming.

“When I was younger and I would come here, I would just be so amazed by the stage and just the crowd and how big everything was,” Kelsey Lynn said.

Growing up in Lansing, she loved to sing and perform.

“I always used to mess around and write little raps and stuff like that. One day I was like I’m seriously going to write a rap song and when I did it, it turned out great and I really loved to do it so I was like this is exactly what I want to do this is the path I want to go down,” Kelsey Lynn explained.

Sunday night she’ll be doing just that on her biggest stage yet, as the first female to perform on Common Ground’s Hip hop night.

“Honestly I never thought I’d make it to this point but now that I am the possibilities are just endless," Kelsey Lynn said. "I just want all the ladies out there to know if you have goals and dreams just keep chasing them don’t stop just work hard stay persistent and things will happen.”

The artist said she plans on making it a special one and has a few surprises for her fans.

“It’s definitely going to be a good time. It’s going to be a huge party," Kelsey Lynn said. "It’s going to be something that people are not going to expect.”
