It's technically legal for 14-year-olds to get married in Michigan, thanks to a state law on the books from the 1880s.
But legislation scheduled to be taken up by a state Senate committee would raise the age.
Current law requires 16-year-olds and 17-year-olds to get consent from one parent. The legislation would require written permission from both living parents.
FOX 47 will let you know when the legislation comes up for a vote.
