The Ingham County Board of Commissioners is taking applications to fill a vacant seat.
Commissioner Carol Koenig resigned earlier this month to pursue a public defender job in the county.
“Commissioner Koenig has been an effective and efficient County Commissioner and we wish her the best,” said Victor Celentino, Vice-Chairperson and current acting Chair of the Ingham County Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Celentino added, “We plan on an open and orderly process for filling this vacancy”.
Applications with resumes’ will be accepted through Friday, October 26, 2018, at 5 p.m. Applications are available here or by contacting the Board of Commissioners’ Office at (517) 676-7200.
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must be registered voters in Commissioner District 9 which includes the following precincts: City of East Lansing - Precincts 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15.
The Board of Commissioners’ Democratic Caucus will interview candidates for the position and will recommend an applicant for appointment to the full Board of Commissioners.
