Columbia Road will be closed at the bridge over the Grand River (Between N and S Waverly Roads) for a week or so starting on or about next WEDNESDAY, 9/5 to complete the construction project. The bridge contractor needs to complete painting of the bridge and abutments, and pave the top course of the asphalt road approaches. S Waverly will remain accessible from Columbia Road during this closure. Follow the posted detour via Onondaga Road, Holt Road, and N Waverly Road.
Following this work, an actuated yellow flasher system will be installed to assist drivers with identifying approaching traffic. That work is expected to occur in October with shoulder and/or lane closures (traffic regulator control) only; the bridge will remain open to through traffic. Stay tuned for updates.
