MT. PLEASANT, Mich. — It's revealed why CMU is investigating its head gymnastics coach: he's been on paid leave since February.
According to Central Michigan Life, Jerry Reighard was put on leave on February 20 as the school investigated allegations that he urged athletes to lie about injuries to medical staff in order for them to compete.
The investigation is ongoing.
He has missed several meets due to his suspension.
CMU is getting ready to compete in the NCAA championships next week.
