Disturbing new details in an Eaton County child abuse case.
Sheriff deputies arrested Taylor Prahl-Six of Olivet Friday after evidence and information led them to file two-count felony charges for first-degree child abuse.
Medical staff at Sparrow Hospital believed the injuries on two-month-old Braxton, were the results of two separate assaults.
Eaton County Sheriff deputies along with investigators from Michigan Department of Health and Human Services got involved on July 3 after family members brought the newborn baby to the hospital.
Close family members tell FOX 47's Carla Bayron Sunday that Prahl-Six admitted to shaking her baby on two separate occasions and threw him against a child play rocking chair with extreme force. Close family also said Braxton has little brain activity and he may not be able to walk or see again.
When doctors updated close family last week, they said Braxton has hemorrhaging behind the eyes, bleeding on his brain, and skull fracture.
Braxton was born prematurely at 35 weeks, per a close family member. He had a condition where he couldn't swallow his formula which required surgery.
Prahl-Six remains at the Eaton County Jail while detectives continue to investigate the case.
