The City of Lansing's public service department has announced several street closures and lane reductions that will be in effect for Sunday's Capital City River Run 5K.
Below are a list of the street closings or lane reductions:
Between 5am and 5pm, Grand Ave. North of Shiawassee (will reopen for a limited time to allow parking in the LCC ramp before the beginning of the races after start and finish lines are setup.)
Between 5:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
Michigan Avenue between Cedar and Friendship circle. There will be lane restrictions in the eastern limits of Lansing to Hagadorn road in East Lansing.
May Be In Place Between 5:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
Capital Ave. Between Ionia and Ottawa streets (lanes reduced)
Walnut Street between Kalamazoo & Washtenaw Street (lanes reduced)
Walnut between Washtenaw & Ottawa streets (closed)
Ottawa street reduced to one lane between Grand Ave. and Butler Blvd.
Pine Between Ionia and Ottawa (lanes reduced)
Pine Between Ottawa & Allegan (closed)
May Be In Place Between 7 a.m. & 10:00 a.m.
Capitol Ave. between Ottawa & Allegan streets (closed)
Washington Square between Allegan and Ottawa Streets (closed)
City Market Drive between Cedar & Michigan Ave (closed to thru traffic)
Museum Drive between City Market Drive & Dead End to the south (closed)
May Be In Place between 7:30 a.m. & 10 a.m.
Grand Ave. Between Washtenaw & Shiawassee Street (closed)
Michigan Ave. Between Cedar & Capitol Ave
Butler Blvd Between Kalamazoo & Allegan Streets (Closed to thru traffic)
Allegan Street Between MLK & Grand Ave. (Closed)
Local access to businesses will be maintained during this event.
The Lansing Police Department personnel will be located at street intersections to help guide motorists needed to get inside the race route.
