LANSING, Mich. — Another construction project set in the heart of downtown Lansing could take a big step forward Monday night at the city council meeting.
The 500 block project will be presented to Lansing City Council members.
It'll start with the renovation of the former Lake Trust Credit Union building.
That's on the corner of south Capitol Avenue and Lenaway street.
A new building would be built at the corner of south Capitol and Hillsdale Street.
It's a $33 million mixed-use development project.
The plan is for 160 apartments, office and commercial space.
City council will decide if the plan should go to the committee on development and planning.
If it moves on, there will be public hearings.
A final vote could happen in December.
Construction of the new mixed-use building would be slated to begin next September.
The work for that could potentially be finished by the spring of 2022.
