Authorities say a pellet shattered the back window of a public transit bus that was carrying charter school students in the Flint area.

Mass Transportation Authority general manager Ed Benning tells The Flint Journal the bus was traveling in Genesee County's Mount Morris Township on Monday when a pellet struck the back window. Benning says no children on the bus were hurt.

The newspaper says the bus was carrying about 20 students from Burton Glen Charter Academy. It stopped and the children were placed on other buses. Benning says police are expected to review surveillance footage from the bus as part of the investigation.

Last month, a Mass Transportation Authority bus with about 30 students aboard from the Madison Academy charter school was hit by a bullet in Flint.
