Chicago Police are rolling out the red carpet for a Lansing boy who honored police with a special birthday party last month.
Jeremie Bordua, Jr. gave up his 11th birthday party and spent the last several months baking cookies to raise money for the "Thank You" party for police.
Chicago Police invited Jeremie and his family for a special visit. They arrived Thursday and attended a fundraiser for the "Brotherhood for the Fallen." The group travels to officer's funerals to support families.
Chicago Police honored Jeremie with a specially engraved baton and a birthday cake shaped like a Chicago Police patrol car.
He also received a number of other gifts, including a junior police badge.
On Friday, Jeremie and his family enjoyed a ride on board a Chicago Police Boat. Police also surprised him with tickets to Saturday's Chicago Bulls game.
