An incredible photo of a lightning bolt over Lake Michigan has gone viral.
The photo, posted by Interlake Steamship Company on Tuesday morning, shows a massive lightning strike lighting up the skies and waters of Lake Michigan.
It was taken by Jack Brandenburg, who is a mate on the Mesabi Miner, a 1,000-foot freighter built in 1977 to honor the men and women of Minnesota's Mesabi Iron Range.
The Door County, Wisc. native took the photo with his cell phone using cell phone with a long exposure.
According to the company, the freighter was sailing down Lake Michigan loaded with iron ore from Duluth, Minn. headed for Indiana Harbor, Ind.
As of Wednesday morning, the photo had more than 5,300 shares and 3,600 likes.
