Potter Park Zoo is announcing the birth of their newest addition, a baby kangaroo.
The little joey "emerged" from her kangaroo mother's pouch this winter.
Roothie, the mother, came to the Potter Park Zoo in May 2017 and zoologists thought she may be pregnant at the time.
The baby kangaroo was the size of a Lima bean when it was born. Officials say that by the time the joey is ready to start venturing from the safety of the pouch, it has grown to be a couple of feet tall.
Visitors to the zoo may see the joey climbing out of the pouch or trying to explore the world with his mother.
