Team work between police and dispatch lead to charges being sought against two adults and four juveniles for a breaking and entering of a school in Ionia County.
The Ionia Department of Public Safety reports that officers were dispatched to Saints Peter and Paul School for a forced breaking and entering on Sunday.
Officers found that the suspects broke into the school office and stole money and other valuable items. An officer began to collect evidence at the scene, the department reports.
At about 1 p.m., Ionia County Central Dispatch received a call to check on a subject who had a large amount of cash and an injury. The dispatcher was able to put the two incidents together, and sent the investigating officer to the location.
The officer was able to obtain a confession from the suspect, recovered stolen property and was able to obtain names of others involved. The suspect was then lodged at the Ionia County Jail, the report states.
The department continued the investigation into the break-in, and gained more confessions and recovered the remainder of the stolen property located throughout Ionia County.
Charges are being sought on the other two adult suspects and four juvenile suspects.
