Misdemeanor ordinance violation charges have been issued in conjunction with an incident that occurred outside a Milo Yiannapoulos speaking event on December 7 on the Michigan State University campus.

The Ingham County Prosecutor's office issued the charges on 6 of 7 requested cases. The charges are related to disturbances outside a university building shortly before speaker Milo Yiannapoulos held a lecture.

It's alleged that those charged violated MSU ordinances concerning "Disorderly Assemblages or Conduct/unauthorized assembly" and "Failure to Obey a Police Officer." The violations have a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail and/or a $100 fine.

Seth Kalis, a 24-year old male resident of Lansing, has been charged with unauthorized assembly. Kalis was issued a ticket on December 7, and currently has a pending case in the East Lansing District Court.

Three other individuals are charged with unauthorized assembly and failure to obey a police officer. They have yet to be arraigned. Two more people have been charged with unauthorized assembly, they also have not yet been arraigned.
