The Cavanaugh Road railroad crossing located between Pennsylvania Avenue and Aurelius Road will be closed starting Monday, September 11.
The City of Lansing Public Service Department announced that it will be closed for repairs until Friday, September 15. Follow posted detours to get around the closure.
Cavanaugh Road detour for westbound vehicular traffic:
Westbound vehicular traffic will be required to turn left onto Aurelius Road, right onto Jolly Road, and right onto Pennsylvania Avenue to return to Cavanaugh Road.
Cavanaugh Road detour for eastbound vehicular traffic:
Eastbound vehicular traffic will be required to turn night onto Pennsylvania Avenue. left onto Jolly Road, and left onto Aurelius Road to return to Cavanaugh Road.
Access to Hawk Island Park will be from Aurelius Road.
Access to businesses or residences will be maintained throughout the project.
Heads up - the Lansing BWL water main project currently has Cavanaugh Road closed between Cedar Street and Pennsylvania Avenue and between Cedar Street and Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard.
You may want to seek alternate routes during this time.
