LANSING, Mich. — The city of Lansing has a new police chief.
The Lansing Board of Police Commissioners voted unanimously to accept Daryl Green as the new police chief.
Members on the board say the mayor made the right choice and wasted no time with the vote.
Green joined the department in 1999 as a community police officer and came up in the ranks to captain in 2012.
The recommendation was supported by the Lansing NAACP, city council and now the board of police commissioners.
We are still working to find out when Green will be sworn in.
