Animal lovers are invited to attend a groundbreaking for the Capital Area Humane Society next week.
The animal shelter in Lansing will break ground on an expansion and renovation at its facility located at 7095 West Grand River Wednesday, May 18 at 6pm.
"We are very excited to be breaking ground on this important project to expand and renovate our shelter. As a regional animal welfare organization, the demand for our services is very high. This project will make it possible for us to help even more animals across Mid-Michigan, and to expand our programs and services," says Julia Willson, President and CEO.
The expansion will include space to launch a formal anti-cruelty program, a bigger area for animal intake and a new adoption lobby, improved behavior assessment and training areas and an expanded and relocated cat adoption area with outdoor access.
