Canines for Change fundraiser to help those in need of service dogs

Posted

Canines for Change is hosting their first annual “Drives for Change,” to raise to help those in need of service dogs. On Sunday, August 12th they are inviting the community to join them at Centennial Acres golf course for good food, fabulous auction items and a 18-holes of golf.

“This will be a great event where we can meet the community that supports our work, raise money to help others and enjoy a fun day,” says Canines For Change Fundraiser, Ashley Shaffier

Canines For Change is a non-profit that trains service dogs for those in need of assistance, including veterans with PTSD, as well as those with epilepsy or physical disabilities. The dogs, their veterinary care and the two years of training that they undergo can cost upwards of $10,000, which most families cannot afford. Canines for Change hope to raise money to help the families with those costs.

“We are very grateful to the community for their continued support of our mission. We’re hoping this golf outing will continue to grow and become an annual event that allows us to help individuals have a service dog that positively impacts their life,” said Canines For Change Board President, Amber Pitts.

Canines for Change is inviting everyone to attend. Service dogs will be in attendance so that guests can see the work that their money supports. The event will be held at 1pm at the Centenials Acres Golf Course, in Sunfield, MI on Sunday, August 12th. Admission is $40 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, use of a golf cart and lunch.

The event is sponsored by Farm Bureau Insurance- CJ Griffin and Bridgewater Interior Designs.
