About 100 cancer survivors rallied on the steps of the state Capitol today to let legislators know they want better access to oral chemotherapy.
The demonstration is part of the American Cancer Society's cancer action network day.
The day gives patients and advocates a chance to speak with their lawmakers in an effort to make cancer research a top legislative priority.
"It will allow people to have access to care - they would be able to choose what the best form of chemotherapy is for themselves without having to worry about out of pocket costs," said Jennifer Varner form the American Cancer Society.
The group also wants to stop teens from using tobacco.
They're working to get lawmakers to raise the price of cigarettes by a $1.50 to deter kids from buying them.
