The Calhoun County Sheriff's Department wants to warn you about a telephone scam.
They received a report of someone who got a phone call, saying they owed money for missing jury duty and that failure to pay the money would result in jail time and additional fines and costs.
Sheriff's officials say it's not a legitimate call nor will business involving the court ever be conducted over the phone.
If you receive any suspicious calls like this one, be sure to call your local police department.
